Empowering Change with Fwinbe Foundation
Dive into the impactful story of Fwinbe Thomas Gofwan and the mission of his memorial foundation to stop mob lynching in Nigeria.
Mob Lynching is Injustice! Stop the Mob: Stand for Justice!
Welcome to Fwinbe Thomas Gofwan Memorial Foundation!
Late in the evening of the 25th of September 2023, a mob of motorcycle riders was seen in a very public area of Jos, Nigeria surrounding a white minibus. Less than an hour later, the mob would disperse and leave behind the mauled body of its victim. The victim would later be identified as Fwinbe Thomas Gofwan- a much-loved, popular, and enterprising young man.
In the days that followed, the details would emerge and leave more questions than answers. For reasons still unknown, Fwinbe was killed by an angry mob on false allegations and the perpetrators disappeared, leaving an entire city in grief.
We have created this foundation to preserve the memory of this young man, raise awareness of the conversations around mob violence, and stop mob lynching in Nigeria.

On Wednesday, 25th September 2024, we marked the first anniversary of Fwinbe’s passing with the inauguration of a Memorial Foundation. This significant event took place at Domkat Bali Junction Tudun Wada, beside the Fwinbe Cenotaph.
